Norden booked their place in the next round of the Worsley Cup with a comfortable victory over Great Harwood at Stag Park.

Only S Ahmed, who made an impressive 50, managed to offer sustained resistance for Great Harwood.

Maqsood was the standout performer with the ball, returning figures of 3-26 from his allotted 10 overs, while Joe Humphreys provided excellent support with 3-28 from 9 overs.

Great Harwood were eventually bowled out for 137 in 34.3 overs.

Norden’s reply got off to a shaky start and at 22-3 the home side were briefly under pressure.

However, Price (43) and Shipley (50*) produced a composed and match-winning partnership of 91 for the fourth wicket to steady the innings and guide the Stags towards victory.

Norden’s Second XI suffered a dramatic and heartbreaking Junior Cup exit after a stunning late collapse against Todmorden.

Farooq led the Norden bowling attack with 2-30, while Hussain claimed 2-24 and Jake Hill returned tidy figures of 1-23.
