Norden Cricket Club is seeking a reliable and committed Groundsperson to maintain and prepare our playing surfaces and facilities at Woodhouse Lane. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the ground is presented to a high standard throughout the cricket season.
Role Overview
The role involves preparing cricket wickets, maintaining the square and outfield, and carrying out general groundskeeping duties around the club.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of cricket wickets for matches and practice
- Rolling, mowing, watering and marking pitches
- Maintenance of the cricket square and outfield
- General groundskeeping duties around the ground
- Setting up the ground for matchdays
- Basic upkeep of grounds machinery and equipment
Requirements
- Previous experience in general groundskeeping is essential
- Experience in cricket wicket preparation is preferable
- Ability to work independently and maintain high standards
- Reliable and flexible, particularly around match schedules
Hours and Contract
• 20–25 hours per week
• Initial six-month contract
• Rate dependent on experience
